Faith Formation 1.jpg

Date : 9th November 2024

Time : 1pm to 5pm

Location : St Francis Xavier Seminary (St Cornelius Room)

The above event was held on Saturday 9 November 2024. The venue was St Cornelius Room at the St Francis Xavier Seminary in Upper Bukit Timah Road. It was held from 1 pm to 5 pm. It was organized by the Kim Keat Base Group.

There were about 30 participants, some from most of the base groups and some were invited guests. The topic was on PRAYERS. The objective is to create an awareness on the importance of prayer to form the person and the base groups for our apostolic work.

The guest Speaker was Ms Elaine Ng. She shared various aspects of prayer such as the need to pray, the how of prayer, the importance of prayer, etc. Her sharing was fully supported from quotations from the Bible, emphasizing the biblical truths about prayers. Father Dominque, Our Spiritual Director, also spoke on the topic highlighting the biblical history of prayers and the importance of communicating with the transcendant God. He said we do not have to be different when we pray, just be ourselves, knowing that God knows what we need even before we ask Him.

After a break, the participants formed into 4 groups and discussed three questions on the topic. A representative from each group then presented their views.

The attendees were enriched with a deeper knowledge of prayers and the how, what, why and when of prayers. All were encouraged to develop a more prayerful life further. CFSM members are also reminded to put their faith into action in the apostolic work that they undertake, seeking our God for Guidance to do His Will.
